What is Hello Work?
Hello Work (employment service center) is a governmental agency that provides you with information about how and where you can get a job. It also offers consultation services on job-hunting and other labor-related issues for free.
What should I bring to Hello Work?
Please check your residence status before visiting Hello Work, because Hello Work find different job offers depending on type/tier of your residence status.
<What to bring to Hello Work>
- Letter of Resignation 1 from your previous workplace (Put on your name, bank account number and other required information)
- Letter of Resignation 2 from your previous workplace
- My Number Card (Individual Number card for social security and tax systems) – If you haven’t issued one, bring 1. My Number Notification Card (sent to you by mail) or 住民票記載事項証明書: Certificate of Items Stated in Residence Register (with your Individual Number printed on) and 2. photo identifications such as Residence Card and passport
- 印鑑/Inkan – 実印/Jitsuin, or only the official seal (registered to your local municipality) is valid, excluding any ready-made stamps
- 2 ID photos (clear image of your face from front, taken in last 6 months, 25mm x 30mm)
- Your bank passbook or cash card (with account holder’s name on)
At Hello Work offices in Tokyo (東京都), Kanagawa (神奈川県), Saitama (埼玉県) and Chiba (千葉県), interpreters are available at consultation desks for multilingual services. For contact information of offices near you, please refer to the following list.
